Why Welness Jollof exists
Most health and supplement content online is one of two things: (1) marketing for a product, dressed as a guide, or (2) overcautious generic advice that doesn’t actually help anyone make a decision.
Welness Jollof is the middle path — clinically grounded, plain-language wellness content that respects your time and your judgment. We cover the supplements, nutrients, and lifestyle interventions that have real evidence behind them, with the clinical context you need to discuss options with your healthcare provider.
Who we are
Welness Jollof Editorial is a small editorial team building evidence-led wellness content for African and global readers. We translate peer-reviewed research and clinical guidelines into language adults can use to ask better questions of their healthcare providers.
This is not a clinical practice and we are not your healthcare provider. Reach us at info@welnessjollof.com for editorial corrections or partnership inquiries.
Who reviews this content
Content on Welness Jollof is written and reviewed by Augustine Usifo, a licensed pharmacist. Every guide is checked against peer-reviewed literature and recognised clinical guidelines before it is published — the same standard a pharmacist applies at the counter.
You’ll see a role-only “Reviewed by a licensed pharmacist” credit on each article; the full reviewer identity lives here, on this page, by design.
Our editorial standards
- Citations or it didn’t happen. Every concrete claim — dosage ranges, mechanism of action, evidence strength — links back to a peer-reviewed source (PubMed, Cochrane, NIH, FDA) or a recognised clinical guideline body (ADA, AHA, NICE).
- Risk before benefit. When a supplement has known drug interactions or contraindications, those come BEFORE the marketing-friendly benefits.
- No miracle claims. If we can’t find supporting evidence, we say so.
- Dated reviews. Health science updates. Every guide gets a “last reviewed” date and we revisit content periodically.
- The disclaimer is real, not boilerplate. When we say “consult your healthcare provider,” we mean it — what works in a clinical trial may not work for your specific situation.
- Conflict transparency. When we recommend a product via an affiliate link, the affiliate disclosure appears at the top of the article. We do not recommend products we wouldn’t take ourselves.
What we cover
- Nerve health and supplement-based interventions (B12 forms, alpha-lipoic acid, magnesium, omega-3)
- General wellness essentials (vitamin D, methylated B vitamins, hydration)
- Longevity and metabolic health
- Sleep, stress, and recovery
- Practical guides on reading supplement labels, identifying greenwashed products, and avoiding contamination
How we earn
We use a mix of affiliate partnerships (iHerb, Amazon Associates) on selected products. Affiliate links never change which products we recommend — they change whether we earn if you choose to buy through them, at no extra cost to you. See the full affiliate disclosure for the complete statement.
We do not accept sponsored content disguised as editorial. Sponsored placements are labelled clearly as such.
